I love my extruder!

I love to play with my extruder and polymer clay - it's like a trip back to childhood and making play dough hair sprout out of a little plastic man.

So when I came across a beautiful rainbow filigree barrette by Mia Rox I had to have a go. And here are my efforts, what do you think?

1 month to go....

... and we've completely run out of money again! So I've started making little bits and bobs because, apart from being much cheaper, it's also much more personal and much more fun.

These little trees, angels and Christmas puds will become earrings or little dangly things to hang on the tree. I made these from polymer clay at a Whimsical Bead workshop and am very chuffed with them. I always have so much fun there and if you live around Melbourne I can highly recommend popping up to Healesville for the day for one of Danni's workshops. So relaxed and friendly and there are workshops suitable for abject beginners as well as lots of great stuff for veteran clayers. A voucher would make a great Chrissie pressie for a craftsy person - it's what I've asked Santa for!

Rums the Red Back

Today finds me rocking aimlessly back and forth in my comfy old baby-cuddling chair nursing a sore back and bored mind. Kids have been packed off for quiet time & afternoon sleep so I thought I'd faff around with my beloved Ipad and see if I can get the blogsy app to publish something to blogger.

So here is "Rums the Red Back Spider" my first attempt at making something with silver clay thanks to the fabby Michelle and her amazing grant sourcing abilities (not to mention her amazing art skills). Now let's see what happens when I press the "publish" button ......
