Focus On Life - Week 5

(If you are looking for the Grow your Blog Giveaway it is here.)

February's Focus: Cabin Fever

Week Five : Get Outside

In my part of the world we're experiencing another round of uncomfortably high temperatures which will see us either hiding inside with struggling air-conditioners or seeking out water : lakes, creeks, beaches and swimmimg pools.

Tuesday was the last day before the start of the new shool term so rather than being cooped up inside I thought I'd take the kids to the local sanctuary. Probably not the best idea I've ever had - it was so hot we were the only people there apart from a French family. Probably the quietest I've ever seen it.

Both families (mine and the French family) gave up walking around in the blazing heat and congregated in the creek that runs through the sanctuary. You can just spot their feet top right as my kids try to catch leeches (why?!?!) below:

The sun was so unrelenting it seemed to bleach all the colours out of everything.

This weekend I think we might park ourselves at a swimming pool safely out of the sun's rays! Phew! I was not built for such heat.

  15. I prefer hot to cold unless I'm travelling into the sun on a hot sunny day in a vehicle with no air conditioning!
