Bead Peeps 3rd Annual Swap N Hop Reveal!

Hello and welcome to the :

I've been a bit slack and haven't done a post to introduce my partner and share what we swapped. In my defense, I am still lacking a computer and I find writing a blog on my mobile to be painful beyond words. And the very INSTANT I sit down to write a blog I become the most needed person in the world ("mum, mum, mum, MUM").

We've all got a lot of beautiful creations to oggle and drool over so I will keep it sweet and short now, and look to writing up a more detailed piece later.

My parter this time around is the extraordinary Krafty Max (www.kraftymax.net). This lady can whip up a stunning seed beaded beauty without breaking into a sweat. To say that I am in awe is a mighty understatement.

This is the stunning stash that was given to me:

So many tiny drops of delight in one package!

Instantly drawn to the russets, reds and oranges I made a series of daisy-chain based pieces:

I have no idea yet what I am going to do with the tassle but it is my favourite piece.

For the blues I have a work in progress:

This is a gloriously seventies feel 3-drop peyote pattern from 69DSIGNS on etsy (peyote-pattern-retro-leaf-instant) and was originally intended as a choker with that beautiful blue / gold cab as a centre piece. But I've changed my mind and I'm going to finish it off as a bracelet for one of my favourite friend's big birthday.

I have still got oodles of goodies to play with and I'm looking forward to many more weeks of playing, designing and finishing off.

A very special thank you to our hostess with the mostess, Linda Anderson, who is one of the most kind, gentle souls I've ever encountered. And who puts up patiently with my rambled messages and poo stories. You're an angel Linda.

Please be sure to check out all of the lovelies on this hop:

  2. Oh the tassel could become a pendant, a key chain, a bookmark, a bag charm or eve na door charm to let the good spirits in. So many possibilities there

  3. I love the tassel too. I'd put a lobster clasp on it so one day it could hook on a purse and the next on a chain as a show-stopping pendant. Well done on all your pieces.

  5. Gorgeous pieces. The tassel, how big is it? It could easily go great on a necklace, but if it's large, maybe an conversation piece of home decor.

  6. That tassel piece is indeed intriguing! However, it's the blue that catches my eye. I am a fan of that pattern, but yes. . .it does have a 1970's feel to it. Maybe that's why I like it. That's when I was born too! Ha! I can't wait to see what evolves from both of them.

  7. Hi Penny, Your tassel is great. Being a blue girl your bracelet is my favorite of your designs. Your friend is lucky to receive such a lovely piece.

  11. What sunny beaded necklaces you have made! I love the beading around the stones, they give so many textures to the piece. The tassel is gorgeous, you should definitely show it off in some jewelry design!

  12. Oh my goodness what gorgeous pieces you made. I am amazed at all the work that goes into seed beading! I adore the tassel which is a great statement piece all on its own.

  13. First of all: I am absolutely in love with your blog name! Sooo funny! And your work is absolutely breathtaking. I too love that tassel. I am not sure what I'd do with it either. It could be really cool as a pendant, or on the end of a hair chopstick, or maybe as a lariat.
