Welcome to Pepita's 1st Blogoversary Blog Hop hosted by the very talented Alenka of Pepita Handcrafted Jewellery and accessories.
This blog hop is to celebrate the 1st birthday of Alenka's blog and she kindly sent 13 participents a beautiful handmade component with which to play and create something beautiful.
I immediately fell in love with the component I received. Beautiful colours, beautiful shape, beautiful finish! Here it is:
Needless to say I could not put it down and had used this gorgeous component with two weeks of receiving it. And yes, I even took photos! Very, very pleased with what I made I am too.
BUT ... it would not be me if (a) I was on time with my reveal and (b) something did not go horribly wrong. At least I haven't lost my piece like I did with the Bead Hoarders blog hop (still haven't found that one).
This time I am having major problems uploading anything because I used up all our bandwidth and we have been SLOWED. Gah! Using the internet is like watching paint dry at the moment. Possibly even slower than that. I thought we ticked over Monday but no, it's Wednesday.
So I've rewritten my original post that has been failing to upload for the past 24 hours and I thought I'd show you all my design notes which I uploaded yonks ago so I could access them anywhere. Hopefully this will work so you can get a glimpse of what I've done.
Then I played with some design ideas:
And this is what I finally decided upon:
And this is more-or-less what my piece looks like!
Hopefully I'll fix the problem with uploading piccies in the next couple of days so I can show you the real thing. Meanwhile, many, many thanks to Alenka for her beautiful component (I expect I'll be shopping at Pepita real soon for some more). Please take the time to look at what the other participants have created - the list is on Alenka's blog here. I won't be able to take a proper look until about thursday when my internet is back!
Can't wait to see the real piece but you do make wonderful sketches.

ReplyDeleteI'll come back to see the final piece, but let me say that your drawing are beyond gorgeous! And I loved the way you've photographed Alenka's pendant with its different views. I'm now following your blog. Good luck with the internet. Ana
ReplyDeleteIf the last drawing is pretty much what your piece looks like, then it is gorgeous! I am looking forward to seeing the picture of your piece.
