Welcome to the 8th Bead Soup Blog Party, created and hosted by the absolutely amazing Lori Anderson.
There are over 500 participants so I will keep the natter to a minimum and get straight to the goodies.
Here is the very special bead soup that I received from Hajer of My Beaded World, look at the beautiful stitching :
This soup was such a pleasure to work with. The handcrafted components are so beautiful and so well made. This is what I made :
The next one is not quite finished. My daughter saw the cord and tassles and immediatley declared that they belonged to her. This is going to be a hair clip when I can find the right sized clip to fix it to.
-----------
And here's desert! This is the luscious soup sent to me by Bridget of www.shears58.net :
So much fun in one package! I only had a few days to play, but this is what I have created so far :
I had a wee accident with the next one - I wanted to add dangles to the pendant so I carefully drilled a hole, sneezed and left a white scratch on the front. Refusing to be deterred I turned the scratch into a tree. My better half said "wow!", so all's well that end's well!
Thank you both so very, very much Hajer and Bridget. Both wonderful, generous soups. I hope you like what I have created with them. And I still have more creations in progress!
And thank you so much to Lori for perservering with the BSBP and generally being an all round goddess.
Please take the time to visit the other participants, starting with my wonderful partners Hajer and Bridget. A full list of bead-soupers can be found on the link below:

ReplyDeleteJackie
Great idea on the tree focal. Sometimes, accidents really do make the best pieces. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's all so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLucky you, two soups to create with! Someday I'd love to read a tutorial on how you did the wire wrapping for the earrings. Great idea to modify the bead scratch to be a tree design. Nice of you to share the knot and tassels with your daughter.
ReplyDeleteLove the accidental tree!
ReplyDeleteWonderful designs! I too love the accidental tree... happy accidents are often the best pieces! ;)
ReplyDeletetwo soups...you were busy!! beautiful pieces full of color!

ReplyDeletewow, two soups! you have been busy! that tree you made for your mistake came out very nicely! and it made a great drop with all those dangles for your necklace. I love dangles.
ReplyDeleteTee hee. The sneeze that turned into a tree. Brilliant fix. And really lovely designs.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun your soup was. I like the "tree" most of all. :)

ReplyDeleteGreat soup mix, you created some wonderful pieces. Love the tree the best!
ReplyDeleteWow, I never would have thought of a hair clip! You rock! Nice designs.
ReplyDeleteGreat soups and great pieces from them. Fantastic to fix the pendant with the tree carving, I don't know that I would have been able to rescue it like that! And it looks like it was always like that, so it was obviously meant to be!
ReplyDeleteVery well done. Great use of your soups. Good idea on fixing your second focal.
ReplyDeleteWow Penny, you were busy with two soups! Your accident with the focal in the second soup turned out fantastic, easily my favourite necklace.
ReplyDeleteFantastic work ... love how a sneeze turned into a really cool design element =)

ReplyDeletePenny, your creations are really pretty! You managed to work with two totally different soups and made a win-win solution from an accidental scratch! Well done!!!
ReplyDeleteAlenka
If I were your daughter I would do the same thing (: I love the hairclip (:
ReplyDeleteWhat great designs! I really love the tree. Made for a very unique focal.
ReplyDeleteThat beaded horse is exquisite. Simple was definitely the way to go with that one. Your tasseled barrette is darling. Your tree is awesome. It actually looks like a sea fan, which goes perfectly with the shell. Nice save.
ReplyDeleteNelly - the very last pair of earrings are my absolute favorite. And I love it your daughter took ownership of the tassels. Too cute! Rose
ReplyDeleteYou had a lot of really beautiful soup to get creative with!!! I think you did an Amazing job!!! I love the designs you came up with!!! Really Great Job!!! Have a Blessed Day!!!
ReplyDeleteI really love what you've created - your pieces are beautiful! Very well done!
ReplyDeleteI love the earrings - they are so simple but awesome!
ReplyDeleteI like the use of the complimentary colors in the beads from Hajer.
ReplyDeleteNext, I love how you used the simplicity of ribbon and cord to show off the focals in your necklaces. The green drops from the silver rings are beautiful. I also love the design of the earrings - they are my favorite. I like the bright silver with little twist - really shows off the beads.
Snazzy designs. I've only been working with seed beads for the last 6 months. It's wonderful to see how each different artist designs with the beads they are given to work with.
ReplyDeleteAll very lovely designs. The hair clip is so interesting, but that sneezy tree is my favorite. The way you etched it in there and the precision of it is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful designs, Penny :) The beadwork necklaces from Hajer's pretty soup are rich and lovely, but the cool Chinese knotted braid and tassles for a hair adornment is my favorite! I LOVE it!! And you created a beautiful tree upon your focal! Wonderful "happy accident" and a treasure. I also am in love with the amazing purple earrings - splendid, masterful wirework! And the two-toned agate and ribbon necklace is marvelous! I love the green and orange gems (been looking for ones just like it -- lucky you!) and ribbon -- simple, elegant design, yet a showstopper! Another favorite :) Happy Hopping! ♥ Rita
ReplyDeleteI love all your designs. It's great that you've turned a misfortune into a positive thing. Well done.
ReplyDeleteAna
Two soups, twice the fun. I love the 2nd necklace photographed and that agate ribbon necklace is my kind of necklace.
ReplyDeleteTwo soups! Wow! I think that tree you carved in the focal was a good choice! And all those seed beads.... that is a skill I do not possess and I admire those that can do such marvelous things! Thank you for sharing your talents with the Bed Soup. Enjoy the day! Erin
ReplyDeleteWOW! How lucky you are!! 2 SOUPS! I love both...the bead weaver in me picks the first one, but the one that really does it - the tree! I can't believe you turned an 'oops' into that beautiful tree and that necklace! WOW!! Great job!! ~KM
ReplyDeletethat tree was an accident? wow is right....love it. the barrette is awesome - love knots like that.....I can never seem to do it!
ReplyDeleteYou did a fabulous job with your soup! Very nice pieces!
ReplyDeleteTwo soups and with each one you made fabulous pieces!
ReplyDeleteDealing with two totally different soups is quite a challenge! You've made many pieces, played with different materials, used different techniques & different color combos! Congrats on how you tackled the focal disaster turning it into success! My favorite piece is the necklace with the beaded horse and bird focal that I was attracted to from the first sight!
